This inspired us and it gave us ideas on what we should do for our project.
We really like the idea of the objects in the opening credit symbolizing something and how they emphasize on the it's conventions.
From this we also found out that by using to film one thing - in this example the fire but making it change like juxapositioning the two opposites together is effectual ( the stillness of the fire then, the wild fire burning everywhere) - in this they want to convey the uncontrollability of the fire and how it is wild at times.
In Christianity the Eye of God is symbolic of the Tabernacle - the temple of the faithful. The eye here represents the omni-present spirit of God peering into the soul of the faithful and is watchful over those who serve him. This " foreshadows" wars , deaths and killing or even the act of injustice that is going to happen in the film.
We also like the way they use black backgrounds to create an abstract feel to the film. Background is very effective when it comes to film as as the colour that is used could represent something resulting in creating the tone of the footage. We also like how they use slow motion to empower each scenes and make it really powerful.
For example - we like the idea how " Foreshadowing" is used in the opening credits e.g. the falling and breaking of the glass of water with wine in it suggests an incoming of "threat.
Wine symbolizes life and death by it's red colour and the strength is by the winding, twisted and wilful shape of the vine stock. The red also suggests "sacrifice" as the gold covered the glass it means a royal person or it could be loyalty of one person towards another like the loyalty of the servants/soldiers to the king.
For this the dressing garment represents loyalty and feminity but as the rope is being untied it could be suggestive of sexual act. This objectifying of woman gives the viewer the idea of what is going to come perhaps mistresses of the king. The fallen crown is often a bad sign like the fallen of the king or the sign of betrayal(dethrone).
We also like the way they use the MS (Mid Shot) where it Ssows some part of the subject in more detail while still giving an impression of the whole subject.
